    IRA College Basics

    The Employment Retirement Security Act (ERISA) was passed by Congress in 1974, which included legislation creating Individual Retirement Arrangements (IRAs). These arrangements can be accounts or annuities, and participation in this program is voluntary.

    JP Ruiz

    JP Ruiz has spent more than 30 years as a consultant and trainer in the retirement and financial services industry. He was also the creator of the preparatory course for the American Bankers Association's Certified IRA Services Professional, CISP, designation. With his comprehensive knowledge of alternative investments, his consulting and training expertise was sought after by numerous third-party administrators in the self-directed IRA market.

    JP has also served as a member of the faculty of the national schools including the American Bankers Association (ABA) Trust School and the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Ruiz is the creator of the IRA College which is the preparatory school for retirement professionals pursuing the Certified IRA Services Professional, CISP, designation through the American Bankers Association and is an approved Continuing Education Provider by the North American Securities Administrators Association.

    Ruiz is also the founder of Ruiz Consulting LLC which provides consulting services and education for numerous IRA and Solo 401(k) Administrators.
